David Ogg, Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Ogg is known for his ability to launch new businesses and is widely regarded as a visionary in the field. Mr. Ogg was the founder and CEO of the first institutional FX ECN, HotspotFX and also the founder and CEO of LavaFX. He was the first to pioneer the use of prime brokerage as a means to trade FX anonymously. Under his leadership HotspotFX transacted the first ever anonymous FX trade. He was the first to successfully charge institutional FX buy-side clients commissions, in spite of the prevailing view that this could not be done. At LavaFX he was the first to incorporate sophisticated trading algorithms into an FX execution venue. Mr. Ogg has established a record of raising capital in the venture community and has closed multiple rounds of financing for businesses he has founded. Mr. Ogg’s strong, successful trading and sales background at major financial institutions earlier in his career make up an integral part of his background.


Mr. Ogg ran Foreign Exchange in NY for Credit Suisse, HSBC, Lehman Brothers and Dresdner. Under his leadership, his teams produced record revenues and top Euromoney rankings. Mr. Ogg was also the most profitable trader globally at Credit Suisse.


Mr. Ogg graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Economics.

Michael Kahn, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Sales


Mr. Kahn is a dynamic and successful leader who brings over 25 years of FX and Capital Markets experience to the role. He has held senior positions in trading, sales, and management in Capital Markets and FX businesses both in the US and Europe and has had significant experience in the promotion of Capital Markets e-trading enterprises. He has cultivated strong relationships with both private and public trading entities and has established a track record of driving very strong sales growth and trading revenues in the businesses he has managed.


Prior to joining Ogg Trading, Mr. Kahn served as Senior Managing Director at State Street Global Markets where he was employed from December of 1996. While there, he held a variety of trading and sales management roles in Boston, London, and NY and presided over an era of significant growth for the firm’s trading businesses and e-commerce initiatives. Prior to joining State Street Global Markets, Mr. Kahn worked for Lehman Brothers Inc. in New York serving as SVP and Chief FX Trader from the spring of 1993 until late 1996. He began his career at Credit Suisse NY in 1985 and was eventually promoted to Chief FX Trader and Member of Senior Management before leaving to join Lehman Brothers Inc. in 1993.
